General Information

Q: Is the water potable?

A: Yes, Jade has fresh, delicious well water that you can enjoy straight from the tap. Quadra Islands aquifers have steadily been depleting and geologists don’t know why. We make all efforts to conserve our water and hope that you will too.

 

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

A: Check-in is at 4 PM (contactless), and check-out is at 10 AM. Early check-ins and late check-outs are available for a $20 fee, subject to availability.

 

Q: Does my suite have a kitchen?

A: Yes, all of our suites and chalets have full kitchens. Complete with an oven, fridge, microwave, drip coffee machine, toaster, as well as the cookware and utensils you'll need. We even provide basic essentials like salt, pepper, and sugar to make sure you're set up for a great stay.

Q: Can I swim in the water at Jade?

A: Yes! Gowlland Harbour is a beautiful bay for swimming. Just be mindful of the barnacles along the shore, and we recommend wearing sandals or water shoes for added protection. 

 

Q: What’s the temperature of the ocean?

A: The average ocean temperature typically ranges from 8°C to 14°C (46°F to 57°F) depending on the season. In the winter months, the water temperature is on the cooler end, around 8°C to 10°C (46°F to 50°F), while in the summer, it can rise to about 12°C to 14°C (54°F to 57°F). The water remains fairly cold year-round due to the region's cooler climate and ocean currents.

​Amenities & Services

​Q: Is free Wi-Fi available at the resort?

A: Yes, wi-fi is free for our guests! For the network name and password, as well as everything else you need to know during your stay, please refer to the ‘Welcome to Jade’ book in your suite.

Q: Is there air conditioning?

A: While our rooms do not have air conditioning, this eco-friendly resort cleverly utilizes the earth's natural cooling ability by being built into the hillside. As a result, our King Suites stay refreshingly cool all summer long.

The chalets above the King Suites have a loft design that can warm up quickly, so we recommend closing the curtains during your daytime adventures. As the sun sets, open the upstairs window and glass sliding door, and place the fan outside the door to draw in cool evening air. This setup will push warm air out the window across from the door, cooling the upstairs swiftly. Each suite features one to two fans for enhanced natural ventilation, ensuring a pleasant stay.

Q: Do you have screens on your windows?

A: We currently don’t have screens, but it’s on our maintenance list to add them. Being near the ocean, we’ve found there aren’t many bugs, although they can be attracted to light. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve your experience!

Q: Are there laundry facilities available?

A: We do not offer on-site laundry facilities for guests, but there is a laundromat on the island called Gleam Laundromat.

Q: Is there a broom in my room?

​A: Yes, you’ll find a broom and dustpan next to the fridge for any quick cleanups during your stay.

​

Q: Are linens and towels provided?

A: Yes, we provide fresh linens and towels for your stay. As an eco-friendly resort, we try our best to do laundry only when needed. Should you need additional linens, please let us know.

Q: Where do I park?

A: Long-term parking is available at the top of the hill, near the entrance of Jade Resort.

 

Q: Can I stay parked in a loading zone?

A: No, loading zones are for multiple suites and some are reserved for emergency vehicle access and guests with mobility issues.

Q: Is there EV charging available?

A: Unfortunately, there are no EV charging stations on the property, and outdoor receptacle charging is prohibited. Please plan accordingly.

 

​​​Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER: Full refund if canceled 3 weeks before arrival. 50% refund for cancellations 1-3 weeks prior, and no refund if canceled less than 1 week before. OCTOBER THROUGH MAY: Full refund if canceled 3 weeks before, 75% refund for cancellations 1-3 weeks prior, and no refund for cancellations less than 1 week before.

 

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Yes, pets are welcome with prior notification. We ask that they are well-behaved, kept on a leash outside, and not left unattended. Please also consider our peaceful environment if your pet tends to be vocal. A pet fee applies: $50 for 1 pet, $75 for 2.

 

Q: What is your smoking policy?

A: We have a strict no-smoking policy in all suites, balconies, and wooden walkways. Outdoor smoking areas are available. A $350 cleaning fee will apply if smoking occurs indoors.

Q: Are there outdoor garbage cans?

A: Yes! The outdoor black garbage cans are located on each level of the property for your convenience.

 

Q: Is Jade Resort accessible for guests with mobility issues?

A: Unfortunately, our property is not wheelchair accessible. There are uneven stone pathways and steep stairs in the chalets. If you have concerns about accessibility, please reach out, and we can help determine if our property is a good fit for your needs.

 

Q: Is there wildlife on the property?

A: Yes, you may encounter local wildlife during your stay. Please keep a safe distance and avoid leaving food outside to minimize interactions.
